Description:
In social studies or history it seems logical that a world overview of our past is necessary. Exposing students to this should develop their knowledge in general and hopefully will mean that the leaders amongst them do not repeat the mistakes made in the past. In dealing with our world’s history, these challenge resource booklets use the approach of selecting about 25 or so key events or movements and then providing their outstanding features in a summary form for teachers for easy reference. Following this, a student’s introduction sets the scene for the challenges. Supporting material is added to help the students work on the challenges. By working through the challenges the students should be able to build up a basic overview and understanding of our past. Topics / events and supporting challenges Book A includes: Where did you come from? Why did Homo Sapiens move out of Africa? In what ways did the Romans leave their mark? What was the Renaissance? How much power did kings have? What was the Industrial Revolution? How did communism rise up? And many more.
